With a successful Winter Warm Up fundraiser in the bag, Adelaide contemporary and traditional folk gathering Fleurieu Folk Festival has scored a massive headline act in revered Aussie singer-songwriter Archie Roach.

A fitting headliner for its picturesque Willunga venue, the annual event will celebrate its 10th anniversary this year, going down from 21 – 23 October with more than 50  acts.

As always, the Fleurieu Folk Festival will shine a spotlight on local talent with other Australian gems flown in from around the country, with Roach’s niece, Nancy Bates, set to perform alongside him, and UK folk maestro Martyn Wyndham-Read, Aussie alt-country artist Suzannah Espie and SA native Eric Bogle also joining the first artist announcement.

“Archie Roach is one of Australia’s true music legends and we’re really excited to have him performing at the festival for the first time,” Fleurieu Folk Festival promoter Peter Thornton said.
