With new song about Black Lives Matter in tow
Indie-folk musician Kimya Dawson has announced she'll be playing a handful of headline shows this coming September, off the back of her appearance at children's festival Dress Up Attack!.
Dawson will also head to Brisbane's Gallery Of Modern Art (GOMA) for a stint at artist Cindy Sherman's 'Up Late' series.
The singer — who contributed heavily to the Grammy-winning Juno soundtrack — also recently weighed in on the Black Lives Matter movement with new song At The Seams. She says the song is "sloppy and dark and raw and sad and mad. I spent 5 years writing it. It's about messy messy things. All my love to the families and friends of the murdered and the many people fighting everyday for Black Lives and to end police brutality."
Dawson will play a couple of headline shows in New Zealand before descending upon Melbourne and Sydney from 16 September.
