Is this the best round yet?
The nominations for the 2016 Primetime Emmy Awards were announced today and while there were no surprises that HBO's Game Of Thrones racked up the most nominations yet again (we still aren't over that season six finale, TBH), there were a number of pleasant surprises and well deserved nods in many of the categories.
With GoT leading the way with most nominations (an impressive tally of 23), including Best Drama, two Best Supporting Actor and three Best Supporting Actress nods, FX shows The People v OJ Simpson and Fargo also pulled in a heap of nominations, taking in 22 and 18 respectively.
Though dominated in recent years by ABC favourite Modern Family, HBO's Veep is undoubtedly the most loved comedy right now as it took in 17 nominations, including Best Comedy Series and another Best Actress In A Comedy Series nod for Julia Louis-Dreyfus.
Fellow comic Amy Schumer also scored a nomination for the same category for Inside Amy Schumer, as did Ellie Kemper for the acclaimed Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt.

One of the biggest talking points coming from today's announcement is the inclusion of Beyonce's "visual special", Lemonade, which received four nominations.
The video for the album (which was one of our picks for best albums of the year so far, by the way), received nominations for Outstanding Production Design For A Variety, Nonfiction, Event Or Award Special, Outstanding Directing For A Variety Special, Outstanding Picture Editing For Variety Programming and lastly, the Outstanding Variety Special category which will see it go up against the likes of Adele Live In New York City, Amy Schumer: Live At The Apollo and The Late Late Show Carpool Karaoke Prime Time Special.
There were some pleasing results for our homegrown talent as well, with Melbourne actor Ben Mendelsohn scoring a nomination in the Best Supporting Actor In A Drama Series category for his work in Netflix's Bloodline.
Speaking of drama shows, Breaking Bad spin-off Better Call Saul's second season has proved to be even better received than the first, taking in seven nominations.
Among the picks includes Best Drama Series, Best Actor In A Drama Series (Bob Odenkirk) and Best Supporting Actor In A Drama Series (Jonathan Banks).
