More Courtney Barnett More Courtney Barnett

Courtney Barnett's new film clip for Elevator Operator could already be shortlisted for best music video of 2016 for many reasons, not the least of which, for the insane amount of cameos featured which includes some of the biggest names in Aussie rock music.

The video for the opening track of her acclaimed 2015 debut album, Sometimes I Sit and Think, and Sometimes I Just Sit, tells a pretty straight forward story — our Courtney plays an elevator operator (no way, right?), who encounters a bunch of weird characters while on shift, before she heads to the top of Melbourne's Nicholas Building to play with her band; all while still donning the customary elevator operator hat.

There's Tim Rogers playing frisbee on the beach, a wondering Magda Szubanski, Barnett's own Milk! Records crew and Paul Kelly who apparently does NOT like to be interrupted while bowling.

Also keep your eye out for Sleater-Kinney, Tweedy, Camp Cope, Batpiss, The Finks, The Drones, Loose Tooth and many more.
