A man has died after suffering from severe burns at Glastonbury Festival's site, a day before the hugely successful festival is set to open.

As ninemsn reports, the man was in his 20s and caught fire at Somerset's Worthy Farm and died after being airlifted to Bristol's Queen Elizabeth Hospital on Tuesday.

Avon and Somerset Police said, ""Our enquiries are continuing but we are treating the death as unexplained and do not believe it to be suspicious."

It has been confirmed that the fire involved petrol spillage.

Glastonbury Festival is set to open today in the UK with headliners Coldplay, Adele, Muse, New Order and Tame Impala ready to take the stage over the four-day festival. As usual, conditions on the farm are already incredibly muddy thanks to heavy rain this week.
