"Trust us, we're the first to be disappointed."
They were set to hit Australia next week but UK rock outfit Savages have today cancelled their national tour, including their performance at Dark Mofo.
"We are deeply sorry for all our Australian fans who bought tickets and were looking forward to seeing us perform next week," a statement released from the band reads.
"As big fans of music ourselves, we know how much it sucks to have to get your ticket refunded with no show. We love Australia and look forward to making it up to you 100% sooner rather than later.
"There's no better remedy than an amazing show. Trust us, we're the first to be disappointed. We love you, and always will."

Any punters who made purchases from an outlet, agency or from the venue box office are asked to take their tickets back for a full refund.
Leigh Carmichael, Creative Director of Tasmania's Dark Mofo currently underway, this afternoon announced Eddy Current Suppression Ring as replacement for Savages spot next Saturday: “We are extremely disappointed by the last minute cancellation of Savages Australian tour. Sixty-eight per cent of tickets to this sold out show are from interstate, so we are going to have some extremely dismayed patrons. While we know this announcement is going to be discouraging for ticket holders, for those heading to Hobart this week we say ‘don’t let the f*#kers get you down'."
Carmichael added, "We are excited to announce that joining the festival will be much-loved, rarely seen in the wild, Melbourne rockers Eddy Current Suppression Ring supported by psych-rock collective King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard, and multi-instrumentalist JP Shilo, founding member of Hungry Ghosts.”
Dark Mofo ticket holders will be contacted today regarding refund information, while anyone who purchased tickets to any of the Aussie shows by phone or online will have their money automatically refunded to their credit card.
