Tkay Maidza Scores Worldwide Props With BET Award Nomination

In massive news this morning given the successful year she's been having, Adelaide-based hip hop emcee Tkay Maidza has picked up a BET Award nomination this year.
The Zimbabwean-Australian festival mainstay — who has recently collaborated with French DJ Martin Solveig on a new track called Do It Right — has scored a nod for the Viewer's Choice award for Best New International Act, going up against acts like Section Boyz, MHD and Falz, and the only female nomination in the category.
Held on 26 June this year, the BET Awards are celebrated annually to honour the achievements of African Americans and other minorities in the fields of music, cinema, sports and more. Hosted by Chris Rock, Chris Tucker, Queen Latifah and Jamie Foxx in the past, the event is a who's who of celebrities and a super-exciting step forward for our Maidza to crack the American market.
