The fight for the future of Sydney's iconic Bondi Pavilion will pick up steam this weekend with a free event in support of protecting the historic space set to feature performances from Hoodoo Gurus frontman Dave Faulkner, legendary rockers Dog Trumpet, emergent locals Haze Trio and busking ensemble Give A Frog A Phone.

The event, which kicks off from 1pm this Sunday, 5 June, and runs till 5pm, will also feature tango and capoeira performances as well as a showing from Bondi Dance Company. Veteran actor Michael Caton will MC the shindig.

The community is rallying around the effort to stop the redevelopment of Bondi Pavilion, which is presently under threat by council to be turned into a dining precinct. Sydney-bred dance lords Art Vs Science have been among the high-profile individuals to protest the impending plans, which, if realised, will include the destruction of the recording studio in which the band recorded the majority of their 2015 LP, Off The Edge Of The Earth & Into Forever, Forever.
