British comedian and TV/radio personality Alan Carr has announced a country-spanning six-date Australian run for his new show, Yap! Yap! Yap!, this August.

The Chatty Man host will get started in the nation's capital at the Canberra Theatre on Monday 22 August, heading up to Brisbane on 23 August to perform at the QPAC Concert Hall before he's off to the Thebarton Theatre, in Adelaide, on Friday 26 August. The second half of his Australian sojourn takes him west to Perth's Riverside Theatre on Sunday 28 August before he's back east to round out the trip in Melbourne (Hamer Hall, Wednesday 31 August) and, a week later, Sydney (Just For Laughs @ Opera House, Tuesday 6 September).

Carr has had a meteoric rise to the top of British comedy since breaking through 15 years ago by winning BBC's New Comedy Award for Stand Up as well as City Life Best Newcomer Of The Year, garnering a reputation for fiercely funny shows (his 2002 Edinburgh Festival show, Me 'Ead's Spinnin', nabbed four stars Edinburgh bible The List, and 2003 follow-up I Love Alan Carr was similarly acclaimed) that has seen him perform for audiences at some of the world's best laugh-a-thons including Montreal's Just For Laughs festival, the Melbourne International Comedy Festival and Kilkenny.

Tickets for all of Alan Carr's shows will go on sale from 9am this Monday, 6 June (except Perth, which will be available from 10am on Tuesday 7 June), and are available through a variety of outlets. Hit your relevant city here: Canberra | Brisbane | Adelaide | Perth | Melbourne | Sydney
