“...These events will be sure to uncover future leading talent.”
Western Sydney locals are set to see way more musicians and bands performing in streets, cafes, shops, parks and more over the coming weeks as part of an initiative calling for micro music festivals to be launched in the region.
Deputy Premier and Minister for the Arts Troy Grant is asking Western Sydney councils to submit proposals for community-based music events.
"The NSW Liberals & Nationals Government has committed $150,000 to deliver the festivals which will be a great way for residents and visitors to sample Western Sydney’s diverse musical talent," Grant said.
"With a strong youth focus, the festivals will provide employment and opportunities for Western Sydney-based musicians to celebrate their local communities and raise their profiles."

The events are to be coordinated by the Live Music Office under their 'Live & Local' model.
Speaking to theMusic, Live Music Office Policy Director John Wardle said the government-approved proposal can open many doors for the music industry.
"From a national perspective, if we look at live music strategy the focus is either on inner city or regional centres," Wardle said.
"To have such support from the state government for this major initiative across so many Western Sydney councils opens up a new frontier in industry development.
"Western Sydney has a great legacy in contributing to popular Australian music and these events will be sure to uncover future leading talent."
A number of big name acts have come out of Western Sydney including Northlane, 5 Seconds Of Summer and Thy Art Is Murder.
The Live Music Office will be seeking expressions of interest from Western Sydney councils for live events in July.
