The veteran DJ lent his skills to the Brighton Fringe Festival
World-renowned DJ Fatboy Slim, aka Norman Cook, has clearly not forgotten his roots, playing a secret beachside show in his hometown of Brighton for an audience of babies and toddlers and their parents.
The performance was a part of the current Brighton Fringe Festival, for a featured event called Baby Loves Disco — "slowly but surely transforming the hippest nightclubs into childproof discos … for some post-naptime, pre-dinner fun", its Facebook info page advises — and Cook made the most of the opportunity, even bringing his daughter along for the gig.
According to UK outlet The Argus, the veteran hitmaker agreed to the show because of organiser Lesley Woodall, who told The Daily Mail she managed to get Cook on board by calling in a 20-year-old favour; as Woodall explained, she had once, as a then-band promoter, organised gig entry for Cook, who expressed his gratitude via fax. Woodall kept the missive, just in case, and brought it out as leverage when approaching the DJ about the performance, but it turns out she needn't have worried, as the lauded musician agreed in a heartbeat.
"He's a dad and a proud Brighton resident and just the loveliest person, and he totally got what we're all about," she said.

"This was an ideal way to repay it," Cook told The Daily Mail. "I can safely say this is the first time I've done a gig for babies and their parents.
"It was great fun for both me and my daughter, though, and the crowd were so up for it."
