The world is still stunned.

More Prince More Prince

Just days after Prince's body was cremated during a private family ceremony over the weekend, questions are now being asked as to what will happen to the estate of the late singer, which could very well all go directly to his younger sister.

As Fairfax reports, Prince's only full sibling, Tyka Nelson, may receive the entire estate (believed to be worth up to $US800 million) unless he left a will specifying otherwise, which is yet to be determined.

Prince was one of few artists to hold ownership of his master recordings and his own music publishing and it's reported that he had up to 2000 songs locked away in a vault at his Paisley Park home.

It is believed that amongst the unheard catalogue of songs is an entire album he recorded with fellow music legend, Miles Davis

The music icon was found dead in an elevator at his compound just outside Minneapolis last week and a cause of death won't be confirmed for at least four weeks after an autopsy was completed just a day later.

Police confirmed at a press conference that there were "no signs of obvious trauma", nor were there indications of suicide.

According to BBC, a small number of family and friends attended a ceremony for Prince where his body was cremated, with guests including collaborators such as Sheila E and bassist Larry Graham.

A statement was released shortly after the ceremony took place from publicist Anna Meachem which read, "A few hours ago, Prince was celebrated by a small group of his most beloved: family, friends and his musicians, in a private, beautiful ceremony to say a loving goodbye".

People from around the world have paid their respects to Prince in the last few days and most recently, UK artist Morrissey called the songwriter "more 'royal' than Elizabeth 2", after the Queen celebrated her 90th birthday on the same day as his death.

"...He will be mourned far more than she, for she could never make herself loveable, no matter how many paid and promoted non-stories flood the newspapers of the world," a post on his personal website reads.

CBS have confirmed that a public memorial is currently being planned for a future date, with a statement advising that it will be a "musical celebration".
