The British luminary will play four major venues around the country in a couple of months' time

Prodigious singer-songwriter and electronic musician James Blake has announced a whopping four headline performances as part of his Australian trip for this July's Splendour In The Grass festival.

Proudly co-presented by The MusicXpress and triple j, the shows will follow Blake's commitment at Splendour and kick off at Sydney's Hordern Pavilion on Tuesday 26 July, taking the Retrograde mastermind to major stages in Melbourne (Margaret Court Arena, Wednesday 27 July), Adelaide (Thebarton Theatre, Thursday 28 July) and Perth (HBF Stadium, Saturday 30 July).

His 2016 run of shows will undoubtedly mirror his most recent Australian visit, which was incidentally for 2013's Splendour event and associated sideshows, all of which sold out (including two at the Opera House that went like lightning).

It's also been three years since he released his second full-length album, Overgrown, though he's hard at work on eagerly awaited third LP Radio Silence, from which he's been sharing some new material recently. Recent single Modern Soul is a tantalising example of how he's been keeping busy in the studio, though fans can undoubtedly expect to be treated to some old favourites too — all of which bodes well for Aussie audiences when Blake hits local shores for Splendour and beyond in a couple of months' time.
