A 'WHAMMY!' if ever we saw one
When comedian/actor David Koechner announced two days ago that he'd be headed our way this July for a stand-up tour, we crossed our fingers hoping that he'd be bringing Champ Kind's buffoonery to our stages and maybe take us to a nice seafood dinner and never call us again.
Speaking exclusively to The Music, Koechner confirmed that his lovable Anchorman character would indeed be making an appearance this year in the form of a special skit specifically for Australian fans.
"I’m thinking of writing a Champ Kind piece just for Australia. Yeah, I think that would be appropriate. I think maybe a series of stories called ‘Champ Kind’s Greatest Blackouts’ and they all happen to him in Australia," Koechner said.
Describing the show's style, Koechner didn't skip a beat in telling us that it was "like a semi-truck pulling a trailer down the road that’s got a circus tent on it that’s lit on fire while the Master of Ceremony is riding a rollercoaster shouting from a bullhorn".

Koechner's stand-up tour stops nationally from 15 July, just a month after his The Office (US) co-star Craig Robinson takes to Australian stages too.
