It’s the most wonderful time of the year

There’s no better time of year to open a store focusing on vinyl than Record Store Day, which is exactly what Adelaide's Underground Records are doing.

Opening tomorrow, April 16, the emporium will be located in Norwood at 9/47 The Parade and comes from revered vinyl dealer Craig Radcliffe who has spent “what feels like a lifetime” establishing himself through a number of pop-up ventures at record fairs and other events.

Underground Records physical store will have strong focus on heavy psychedelic rock, doom and stoner as well as many other genres of metal.

“It’s been a lifelong dream,” Radcliffe said of the venture.

“I want to bring that feeling of community back to buying and listening to music.

“We are always looking to expand our catalogue and love discovering new music.”

As well as working with US, German, UK and Netherlands distributors year-round to source the “most uniquely addictive noise put to record”, the store will have a number of out-of-print, first press, messed up and weird releases from 2004-2010 on Record Store Day, with more than 2000 releases in store.

Here's five reasons why you should buy a record this Record Store Day.
