Artists, Crew Lash Out At WA Fest Over Alleged Payment Issues

After a successful inaugural run in December, WA-based music and arts festival Disconnect Festival has come under fire from bands, crew and more who allege the promoters, Spring Fever Promotions, still haven’t paid them.

Those involved spoke out after the Pinjarra-based festival posted a feedback survey on their Facebook page and teased this year’s run, and after numerous posts were deleted from the thread, the festival’s entire page was removed temporarily.

Numerous sources have spoken to theMusic.com.au and confirmed that Spring Fever Promotions still owes them for their efforts on three-day camping festival that featured headline sets from Father John Misty, POND, City Calm Down, Meg Mac, Flight Facilities and more.

Spring Fever Promotions director Chris Knight operated Altered State for many years with his brother, Ken Knight, who organised site crews for festivals like Soundwave and Big Day Out in WA.

Despite outstanding payment issues, the debut of Disconnect was widely regarded as a success, with our own review team stating “it's not often a festival lives up to its own hype, but Disconnect delivered on its tagline: 'What a festival should be.'”
