It is toying with people's minds.

More Guns N' Roses More Guns N' Roses

Guns N' Roses frontman Axl Rose sent the internet into a frenzy when a picture surfaced of the singer in Atlanta this week, leading many fans to speculate what exactly he was doing in that part of town, with rumours ranging from him meeting with Guardians Of The Galaxy director James Gunn, all the way to partaking in rehearsals with Aussie legends AC/DC to step in for singer Brian Johnson who has pulled out of the band's world tour for medical reasons

Earlier this week, Atlanta Radio 100.5 DJ Jason Bailey interviewed the fan who was lucky enough to get a picture with Rose, Mark Guglielmo, who could not confirm nor deny why Rose was in town

"It's all total speculation, it's like 'He said, she said' and the Guns N' Roses forums are speculating that he was in town to have a business meeting with James Gunn," Guglielmo suggested, as it is known that the sequel to the hit film is currently being filmed in Atlanta.

"Maybe a song? I dunno."

Following the interview, Bailey yesterday claimed that a "very very good source" told him that Rose will indeed be stepping in for Johnson for ten rescheduled US dates.

"This is what I’m being told, Axl was meeting with the AC/DC group, because it’s all but a done deal that Axl will front AC/DC for the 10 remaining shows," Bailey said.

"Angus, the Young brothers, they run that band. Brian Johnson was always just the guy that would go up on stage and sing the songs. If you ever went to an AC/DC show, it was 'The Angus Show'.

"From what I was told, this was all kind of new inside information to me, Angus is a very black and white guy. He’s like, Brian, for health reasons, can’t continue fronting the band because he was supposed to retire after the last tour, so they wanted to continue going out on the road and continue making music, so if you can’t do it, we appreciate your services, but the show must go on.

"They’re in town, they were auditioning people for the job, and then they flew Axl in, again, this is from my source."

Other rumours suggested is that Rose was in town visiting ex-wife Erin Everly and that he was looking at stage set-ups.

During the interview with Guglielmo, the GNR fan also claimed that Rose told him that the iconic rockers will be doing a complete tour, as well as the already-announced festival tour dates.
