More Kingswood More Kingswood

Stalwart Melbourne-bred Oz-rock outfit Kingswood is a man down following the announcement last night that long-time bassist and backing vocalist Jeremy "Mango" Hunter would be departing the group.

There doesn't appear to be any acrimony underpinning the split; indeed, while sharing the news on Facebook, the band described Hunter as "a tremendous man".

"Dearest friends, We write to inform you that Mango and Kingswood have parted ways," they wrote. "He is a tremendous man and we will cherish the many wonderful experiences and memories we have shared together.

"We wish him the best with all future endeavours."

The news comes only a couple of weeks after Kingswood were announced along with the likes of Tkay Maidza, The Delta Riggs, Harts, Remi and more for The Reach Foundation's forthcoming Moonee Tunes festival in Victoria. No information about Kingswood's plans regarding sourcing a replacement for Hunter but, with a show scheduled for this weekend at Bateau Bay alongside Bootleg Rascal, Tired Lion, The Lulu Raes and more, and Moonee Tunes around the corner — as well as spots at Dubbo's Roar Music Festival and Milton's Kidgeeridge Music Festival in April, plus the Big Pineapple Festival in May — it probably won't be long before we find out what comes next for the resilient rockers.
