Prepare your bodies, people of Geraldton
National youth broadcaster triple j has revealed all the juicy details regarding this year's One Night Stand rural festival event, with the annual small-town shindig destined to hit the West Australian locale of Geraldton in 2016.
With a line-up boasting the likes of Alison Wonderland, Boy & Bear, Urthboy and more — including freshly announced attractions such as SAFIA's Benjamin Joseph, Bernard Fanning, Bertie Blackman, BRAVE, Jess Kent, Kira Puru, The Grates' Patience Hodgson and Sampa The Great — triple j's yearly party will roll into the Coral Coast township to set up shop at Wonthella Oval for the proceedings on Saturday, 9 April, and, from the sounds of things, all sides are pretty stoked about the arrangement.
"Everyone at triple j is really excited to be road tripping to Geraldton with some awesome musical mates," triple j Content Director Ollie Wards said in a statement. "We're lucky to cover so much of this massive country and visiting cool regional towns like Geraldton is one of the best things we get to do.
"We can't wait to throw the biggest free concert the town has ever seen and maybe try the famous lobster while we're there!"

City of Greater Geraldton mayor Shane Van Styn echoed Wards' sentiments, saying in a statement: "This is absolutely incredible news for Geraldton. To have acts of such a high calibre coming to WA's midwest is amazing, and we encourage everyone to come to Geraldton to check it out.
"Regional areas often miss out on bigger festivals so we are very excited to have this year's One Night Stand. We love hosting big events and we know this one is going to be huge."
As part of making it as big as possible, triple j are extending the chance for a local act to not only score airplay on the station and its digital sister, Unearthed, but a spot on the actual One Night Stand stage to join the A-list line-up headed to town in April. So, if you're from Geraldton and surrounds and want a chance to get up in front of locals and visitors and strut your stuff with the best of them, upload your songs to Unearthed before Sunday 27 March; winners announced on 31 March.
