Iconic Sydney Rock Venue To Be Resurrected

Though Sydney's live music scene has taken a hit in recent times, arguably over the city's lockout laws, an iconic venue which hosted a number of big name music acts is set to make a comeback. 

The level one venue at Paddington RSL is currently in development with plans to open in just a few months and speaking to theMusic, LimeHQ Events CEO Lindsay Osborne says he is thrilled to bring live music back to the once-booming concert room.

"The passion and drive behind it is to not only give Sydney another live music venue, but to also resurrect this room that’s just been sitting dormant for a decade," Osborne says.

"It was one of the great venues of the ‘80s and ‘90s of Australian rock.

"It’s like someone walked out the door and switched it off," he says of the room. 

"Everything is there."

Among the bands Osborne claims to have performed at the venue in the past is none other than rock legends INXS, though he insists that he wants to bring in established acts, as well as up-and-coming artists.

"We want to cover all demographics and give them exactly what they want in an atmosphere that they’re going to love," he says.

The venue is currently taking bookings and Osborne hopes to hold the first official gig in May.
