Axed Festival To Go Ahead At New Location

Maitreya Festival is back on!

After hitting back at the local council earlier today, the recently-axed Melbourne Maitreya Festival has confirmed it will indeed go ahead at a new location.

The Buloke Shire Council alleged that festival management had not provided sufficient documentation regarding a permit and thus they would not be able to use the Wooroonook Lakes location, suggesting that "illegal works" were being conducted at the site location by organisers.

Maitreya Festival have now announced via Facebook that they have secured a new venue for next weekend’s event.

“We have secured a fantastic new venue just down the road from the lake,” they said.
“This means we can still support the amazing community in Charlton who have supported the event and its patrons so much!”

The festival will take place in one week, from 11-14 March, which marks its tenth anniversary.
