It isn't all bad news, though.

After part one of the hugely-anticipated Ian "Molly" Meldrum miniseries, Molly, scored massive TV ratings and blitzed competition last week, the second and final part of the show has failed to garner the same figures.

As TV Tonight statistics show, the program pulled in 1.53 million viewers — a drop of 262,000 from last week.

It wasn't all bad news however, as Molly still ranked in second for the night, only behind fellow Channel Seven program My Kitchen Rules with 1.68 million viewers, capping off the TV network's stellar evening.

ABC's Doc Martin came in at third with 1.03 million viewers.

The ratings shouldn't be too disheartening for all involved in the show either, after it was confirmed on Saturday that the soundtrack for the show took out top spot on the ARIA Albums Chart.

The show has clearly left an impression on Australian music fans as the record rose to the #1 spot from its previous position of #9, beating out Adele's acclaimed 25 at #2 and David Bowie compilation album Nothing Has Changed (The Best Of David Bowie) at #3.
