Regional touring festival Groovin The Moo have outlined a series of partnerships they'll be undertaking at each of their six events this April, bringing focus to the many communities that help make GTM a reality each year.

GTM's co-promoter Stephen Halpin said, "As the only national regional touring festival, Groovin The Moo has always put considerable significance in engaging in various community programs around the country. These initiatives provide opportunities to locals in regional areas, many of whom have never experienced being involved in such a large event.

"These relationships strengthen the bond between GTM and each of our communities and offer talented locals valued experience by showcasing their skills and talents to a wider audience."

Once again, the Groovin The Moo Unearthed competition is open and ready to offer a lucky band a slot on the triple j stage at the festival. Just upload your best tracks to triple j Unearthed by 28 February.

Shoot The Moo! offers eager live music photographers a chance to shoot Twenty One Pilots, meet the band and have a chat to GTM's official festival photographer, picking up industry tips on how you can make a career in music photography full time. The winner will also score a double pass to GTM.

If you're an aspiring graphic designer, artist, professional — anyone really! — you can win the chance to have your design on GTM's official merch as part of GTM-TEE. The brief this year calls for a futuristic design that "embraces the cosmic jive of outer space" so get your guitar-wielding martians at the ready. The major winner will pick up a $2,000 JB Hi-Fi gift voucher, two tickets to GTM, a GTM merch pack and of course their design all over GTM's merch. Entries close 13 March — head here for more info.

Kicking on for over 12 years, the Short Internship Program And Work Experience Program For Youth is looking for student interns from each regional area to take part in a short program. You'll get to network with people in the industry, make new friends, and see how a festival works from the inside out.

Artists can submit works as part of the Sister Cities Art Exhibition, with exhibitions at each event to showcase the best and most inspiring works from each region in GTM's interstellar theme. Entries open on 23 February and close 6 March.

Aspiring musos aren't forgotten either, with Heaps Decent offering a backstage music workshop at all shows for any bright young producers, beatmakers, lyricists and songwriters. A couple of artists from the 2016 line-up will be taking part in this too — applications open 1 March and close 31 March.

The Opportunities Exchange Program seeks out youth from each local area who are disadvantaged, homeless, at-risk or experiencing hardship to attend GTM, so they can experience a few days of music festival madness taking place in their own hometowns.

Details for many of these initiatives can be found here in time.
