"A large part of my listening comes from Australia. This has been the case for many years..."
Seminal American musician, writer and speaker Henry Rollins has been announced as the 2016 guest speaker at this year's Australian Music Prize (AMP) prize-giving event, Amped Up In Conversation, on 9 March.
The Black Flag frontman already writes regularly for Rolling Stone Australia and LA Weekly, as well as hosts a weekly radio show in LA, in addition to his careers as an author, journalist, spoken word performer, actor in both film and TV and a voice in audiobooks.
Rollins said of his guest speaker role: "In my opinion, there are so many great bands making great albums in Australia, you would be spoiled for choice to pick out a single best album but it will be interesting to see what happens.
"A large part of my listening comes from Australia. This has been the case for many years and of course being such a fan, I'm quite honored and excited to be a part of the Australian Music Prize."
