Pozible campaign is now live.
After it was nearly axed altogether last November, organisers of long-running short film festival Tropfest have launched a crowdfunding campaign to help raise $100,000 and secure the event's future.
Though the 2016 festival will take place this month thanks to CGU Insurance, money pledged to the Pozible campaign will go towards strategic review and business model restructure, a finance and government review, research, fundraising plan development, travel and accommodation and project expenses.
"Yes, this iconic Aussie event is back. But we need your help to design and build its future," a statement on the campaign reads.
"We are reaching out to the film community, our audiences, supporters and friends with this Pozible campaign so that together we create a bright and sustainable new era for Tropfest."

Rewards for each pledge vary and start from a thank you message from Tropfest for a $10 donation, all the way to spending the entire festival alongside founder John Polson, being credited as an executive producer and being listed on the Tropfest honour roll for a donation of $10,000.
The Pozible campaign has so far raised nearly $1400 with 18 days left — click here for more information on how to donate.
Tropfest 2016 will take place at Sydney's Centennial Park on Sunday, 14 February. Head to the festival website for more details.
