Spectrum Now Festival Announces Full 2016 Program

Having already delighted punters with a number of impressive line-up announcements over the past few months, Sydney’s eclectic Spectrum Now Festival has dropped the full 2016 line-up.

Boasting some of the best local and international music, art, stage, comedy and more, including previously confirmed artists Jesus & Mary Chain, Alvvays and stand-up from the Workaholics crew, the festival’s program will showcase a range of talent for 16 days, kicking off March 1.

The central hub, The Domain, will be open for 11 nights from March 3, providing a range of free entertainment that includes burlesque dancers, fire breathers, and free live music alongside ticketed events at the Big Top.

The ticketed musical program, curated by Splendour In The Grass and Fall Festival masterminds Paul Piticco and Jessica Ducrou, will go down at Big Top and feature Hot Dub Time Machine, Missy Higgins, The Jesus & Mary Chain, Birds of Tokyo, Calexico, Augie March, RocKwiz Live, Godspeed You!, Black Emperor, Seekae, US Girls,Alvvays and Jonathan Boulet.

The hub will also showcase a range of food, drink, a pop-up tattoo parlour, retro barber and more.

Artwork from Burning Man and Coachella will make their way to Sydney with acclaimed artist Robert Bose transforming the Sydney skyline into a canvas with the Australian debut of Balloon Chain, an installation that will ground itself at The Domain and features floating helium sculptures made from a number of latex balloons.

2015 saw the debut of the festival’s Talks program, and two highlights from the inaugural event, Pillow Talk and Cultural Crush, will return in 2016, presented over four heated nights at the Art Gallery of New South Wales for four nights of intense personal conversation from leading creative couples on the Australian scene.
