All worthy contenders

As we come up to the 34th APRA Awards, APRA AMCOS have revealed the top 20 acts shortlisted for their annual APRA Song Of The Year award.

This year's shortlist includes a wide array of musicians as usual — from ARIA-winning country singer Troy Cassar-Daley for Another Australian Day and Freedom Ride featuring Paul Kelly to Tame Impala's Let It Happen and CW Stoneking's The Zombie.

Other nominated acts also include Seth Sentry, Grammy-nominated Hiatus Kaiyote, Birds Of Tokyo, Courtney Barnett and first-timers POND and Jarryd James.

The esteemed title will be announced at the APRA Music Awards in early April, with members able to vote for who they think should take out the crown from now until 5pm AEDST on Tuesday, 9 February.
