David Bowie's swansong Blackstar is set to top music charts around the world following the tragic death of the iconic singer earlier this week which also occurred just two days after the album's release.
In Australia, Bowie's 26th and final studio record is primed to dethrone pop artist Adele's acclaimed 25 from top spot after a seven-week reign on the ARIA Albums Chart, which will also mark his first #1 album in the country since his 1983 classic, Let's Dance.
Meanwhile the Australian iTunes Albums chart has simply been dominated by the late singer, with eight of the top ten albums coming from Bowie.
As of yesterday Blackstar sat at #1 followed by six compilation albums in Nothing Has Changed (#2), Best Of Bowie (#3), The Best Of David Bowie 1969/1974 (#4), The Best Of David Bowie 1980/1987 (#7), Nothing Has Changed (#8) and The Best Of David Bowie 1974/1979 (#10), as well as his 1972 studio record, The Rise And Fall Of Ziggy Stardust And The Spiders From Mars (#9).

Also on the iTunes Singles Chart, his 1969 track Space Oddity is currently placed at #4.
Incredibly, 12 Bowie albums currently sit in the top 20 while a huge amount more of material from his illustrious catalogue is also featured in the iTunes Albums and Singles Chart — click here to see the full lists.
In the UK, Blackstar is also set to debut at #1 which will mark a consecutive chart-topping album for Bowie in his home country following 2013's The Next Day and it will be his ninth #1 there overall.
Meanwhile a stunning 15 Bowie albums are currently ranked in the the UK iTunes Albums Top 20 Chart.
Surprisingly however, he is set to score his first ever #1 album in the US with his final record, beating his previous highest position reached by The Next Day which peaked at #2 on the Billboard 200 Chart.
According to The Guardian, music streaming service Spotify have reported that global streams of Bowie's music are up 2,822% since his death was announced on Monday, with a total of over 6.5 million hits.
