Leader Cheetah Announce Break-Up

Adelaide indie rockers Leader Cheetah have had a wild ride in their "four and a half year existence", and like both The Cairos and Jinja Safari yesterday, decided to say their farewells as a band.

The quartet posted their goodbyes and thank yous on Facebook, noting many of the "truly extraordinary acts" they played with and the festivals they were honoured to be a part of. 

The band write, "It's been many years overdue but now feels like a good time to finally take the time and thank those involved with Leader Cheetah during its four and a half year existence and say farewell. It was a hell of a ride and many amazing experiences were had."

They go on to thank many music industry figures like Brian Nankervis and Julia Zemiro of RocKwiz, Splendour In The Grass's Jess Ducroe, their agents and label, adding, "Here's to new musical adventures and the next frontier."

The band released two studio albums in their time — first, The Sunspot Letters in 2009 and then Lotus Skies in 2012.
