Grammy Award-Winning Artist Natalie Cole Passes Away At 65

US singer and Grammy Award-winning artist Natalie Cole has passed away at the age of 65. 

According to TMZ, the daughter of the late Nat King Cole died from congestive heart failure in an LA medical centre, though it is being reported that the underlying medical issues were complications from a kidney transplant and Hepatitis C.

Cole's publicist confirmed the news shortly after and said, "It is with heavy hearts that we bring to you all the news of our Mother and sister's passing."

"Natalie fought a fierce, courageous battle, dying how she lived..with dignity, strength and honor. Our beloved Mother and sister will be greatly missed and remain UNFORGETTABLE in our hearts forever."

Cole rose to fame with a number of hits including This Will Be, Inseparable and Our Love.

She battled a drug addiction in the '70s before she entered rehab in 1983 and went on to stage a comeback.

Her biggest success came in 1991 with the album Unforgettable...With Love which saw the singer perform covers of some of her father's biggest tracks. 

Cole went on to claim six Grammys on the back of the success of the record, which included Album Of The Year.
