The competition heats up with the second announcement of power players in the local industry this year
The countdown to uncover the most powerful person in Australian music this year continues with today's revelation of the #30 to #11 highest-ranking individuals in the industry as part of the 2015 Australian Music Industry Directory (AMID) Power 50.
Today's crop is a particularly colourful crew, filled with the sorts of people and personalities without whom there wouldn't even be an Australian music industry to bother ranking in the first place; the kind of applause-worthy workhorses like Brett Cottle (APRA AMCOS), Susan Heymann (Chugg Entertainment), Dan Rosen (ARIA & PPCA), Claire Collins (Bossy Music), Tim Levinson (aka Urthboy, Elefant Traks), Peter Noble (Bluesfest), Mardi Caught (Warner Music Australia) and Danny Rogers (Lunatic Entertainment), to name a handful.

Following today's unveiling, we've now seen all of the new faces on this year's list bar one ultra-impressive individual who has made their debut inside the top 10 (eclipsing last year's highest new entrant, Dror Erez, who entered at #19) — see the full list of debutantes with tomorrow's reveal of the top 10 most-powerful identities in Australian music.

Of course, as is to be expected, there will be cheers and jeers aplenty as a result of the fresh rankings, with some incumbent entries categorically trouncing their earlier efforts to settle in at hitherto untold heights, while others will no doubt feel the sting of a downward slide — but, hey, that's the music industry, baby.
Stick around for tomorrow's conclusion — it's going to get fiercely competitive in here.
