The annual Sydney Comedy Festival is set to return in 2016 and today the first announcements have been revealed, which will feature sets from comics both local and abroad, including US stand up Brian Posehn, who you'll probably know best from his role as Brian Spukowski on Comedy Central's The Sarah Silverman Program, in what will be his debut appearance at the event.
The 49-year-old actor will join the likes of Ross Noble, Stephen K Amos and Tommy Tiernan in Sydney for the festival's 12th year which will run from 18 April through to 15 May, alongside a number of already-announced Australian talent including Jim Jefferies, Kitty Flanagan, Dave Hughes, Felicity Ward, Alex Williamson and more.

Next year will also feature the free children's program, Comedy For Kids! in the Lower Town Hall, which includes a bunch of interactive play stations, story telling and live stage shows performed by comedians and circus acts.
Also making returns in 2016 is special events Cracker Night at the Enmore, Concourse and Riverside theatres and the Festival Gala to be held at the Sydney Opera House and for the very first time at Sydney Town Hall on 26 April.
