The Melburnian rock vets are back with their first album in nearly a decade
Veteran Victorian rockers Dallas Crane have announced a sizable run of shows from later this month through till the end of February, with the band unveiling 13 dates down the east coast and across the Tasman in support of new album Scoundrels.
Getting under way at Geelong's Barwon Club Hotel on Saturday 26 December (Boxing Day bash anyone?), Dallas Crane will take their freshly updated catalogue of material — which has been growing since 1998's debut LP Lent, mind you — to the Lorne Hotel (27 December), The Loft in Warrnambool (28 December) and the Ballarat Beer Festival (Saturday 16 January) before jumping states to play Sydney's Newtown Social Club on Saturday 30 January.
From there, they head back down to Ballarat for round two, at the Karova Lounge, on Friday 5 February, consequently taking in shows in Adelaide (6 February), Gold Coast (Friday 12 February), Brisbane (13 February), San Remo (Friday 19 February) and Melbourne (20 February) before hopping to Tasmania to conclude the tour with shows in Hobart (Thursday 25 February) and Launceston (26 February).
Scoundrels marks the seasoned outfit's first album in nine years, following up 2006's Factory Girls and a period of inactivity punctuated with the odd reunion show — such as at The Who's Aussie stadium tour and the Melbourne Grand Prix in 2009 — but Dallas Crane have lost little, if any, of the flair and dedication that saw them labelled as 'Australia's hardest working band' mid-last decade.
