Bluesfest Announce The "Original" Blues Brothers Band, Don McLean And More For 2016

Bluesfest just won't quit, but with the quality of these artists, we're totally fine with where things are going. Bluesfest 2016 have gone on today to announce a further ten killer artists to their already splitting-at-the-seams-with-talent bill. The catch — this is about 70% of the line-up, with a few more up their collective sleeves.

Today's announce adds The "Original" Blues Brothers Band to the 2016 bill, a super-exclusive performance happening only because the Bluesfest organisers have apparently convinced them to get the band back together.

Joining them is a huge band including soul maestro Steve "The Colonel" Cropper, Lou "Blue Lou" Marini on sax, Leon "The Lion" Pendarvis on keys, "Smokin" John Tropea on guitar, Eric "The Red" Udel on bass, Lee "Funkytime" Finklestein on drums, Larry "Trombonius Maximus" Farrell on trombone, Steve "Catfish" Howard on trumpet, Bobby "Sweet Soul" Harden on lead vocals, Rob "The Honeydripper" Paparozzi on lead vocals and harmonica and Tommy "Pipes" McDonnell on lead vocals.

Also on the announcement you can find American Pie scribe Don McLean, gospel band The Blind Boys Of Alabama, who will be returning for their seventh Bluesfest, Canadian-born Jeff Martin of The Tea Party, New York's The Mastersons, ARIA Hall Of Fame inductee Russell Morris, Archie Roach (who is also part of the Boomerang precinct line-up), Tex Perkins and The Apes, gypsy/roots act Hussy Hicks and multiple NIMA winners East Journey.
