"Mr Brown wishes to express his deepest gratitude to the fans for their support."
After months of speculation whether R&B artist Chris Brown's Australian tour would go ahead amid petitions to ban Brown, a statement from the Minister Of Women backing the ban, and the consequent "Notice of Intention to Consider Refusal" of his visa in September, Brown's tour has finally been cancelled.
In statements from the promoter posted to the Chris Brown Tour Au Facebook page and Ticketek site, promoters state the December tour dates "are postponed at this time", but "remain positive that the tour will take place in the near future".
The promoters also write of Brown's "deepest gratitude to the fans for their support" and aim for "a successful tour in the near future".
The One Hell Of A Nite tour was due to kick off in a week in Perth, heading to Brisbane, Sydney and Melbourne. At this point, Chris Brown has not posted a statement of his own.
