NT Festival Wide Open Space Unveils 2016 Dates & Details

Yearly Northern Territory shindig Wide Open Space Festival will return for its eighth iteration in 2016, with organisers today revealing the first batch of details about next year's event, following on from this year's resoundingly successful party in the heart of Australia.

The Wide Open Space Festival will once again return to the Ross River Resort, 85 kilometres east of Alice Springs, from 29 April-1 May 2016. Like many other boutique events around the country, Wide Open Space has enjoyed consistent growth in recent years, having attracted about 1500 punters to its grounds in 2015, with plans to repeat or better that figure next time around.

Although the first music line-up announcement isn't due until January, with festival alum including the likes of Kingfisha, L-FRESH The Lion, Urthboy, Tinpan Orange, Urtekk and more, it's a safe bet that 2016's event will be pulling out all the stops to bring together an impressive cabal of creatives for another year.

Tickets for the 2016 Wide Open Space Festival are available now (in time for Christmas, wink/nudge), so if you're already pretty convinced that this is an event worth making the trip for — and, frankly, it's proven year on year that that is the case — you can enjoy some early-bird benefits with the present limited batch of $150 three-day passes.

Alternatively, if you want to contribute to the festival another way, applications for music and arts performances, as well as volunteers, are open now. The festival will also be staging a "#wishyouwoshere" competition early next month, for which there will be passes up for grabs for interstate visitors.
