The uke-totin' troubadour will set off for a run of shows in celebration of recent single 'Fire & The Flood'
Celebrated Aussie singer-songwriter Vance Joy will embark on a triumphant headline east-coast capital-city tour of Australia next year, with the Riptide hitmaker today announcing that he's bringing his acclaimed Fire & The Flood tour Down Under in April.
Having spent much of this year winning hearts and ears abroad in Europe and the US, as well as spending plenty of time rubbing shoulders as the primary US/Canadian support on Taylor Swift's world-conquering 1989 tour, Joy returns to Australian stages a considerably more accomplished prospect than when we were last treated to such a run of shows.
The tour's namesake single has recently achieved Platinum status Down Under, and even matched the planet-conquering Riptide in terms of chart placing, both now sitting as equal-highest rankers for the uke-toting troubadour. Before he sets off on his east-coast journey, however, he'll be present along with the rest of the who's who of the industry at tonight's ARIA Awards ceremony, where he's up for a solid seven awards. Then, he has a swathe of local shows with his new bestie Taylor Swift for the Australian leg of the 1989 tour, which gets under way at ANZ Stadium, Sydney, this weekend.
Then, however, it's all about the Vance-man, when he sets off for his all-ages headline tour from Saturday 23 April, with a show at Melbourne's Margaret Court Arena, heading up to Sydney's iconic Opera House for a performance on Sunday 24 April, and rounding out at Brisbane's venerated Riverstage on Saturday 30 April.
