Megadeth Frontman Refuses To Apologise For Firing Guitar Tech

Megadeth frontman Dave Mustaine has addressed the controversy surrounding the guitar technician that was fired following a performance in Brisbane two weeks ago and has refused to apologise to the stage-hand who he originally called a "total waste of skin" after the show.

Taking part in a Periscope session with fans while on tour in India, the 54-year-old singer responded to questions as to why the tech was fired.

"What happened? The guy lied to me," Mustaine explained. 

"He gave me a guitar that wasn't plugged in or turned on two times and unplugged one time and you know what, that’s just not acceptable."

Following the Brisbane show, Mustaine took to Periscope to blast the tech and responding to THAT particular video he said. "I wish I didn't say it the way I said it, but I'm not going to apologise".

"I was mad, I’d been drinking wine during the set and after a couple of weeks of problems and stuff like that, I’d finally had enough."

Mustaine also went on to reveal that the crew member was actually a bass guitar technician. 

"I forgive him and I still like the guy, it’s just one of those things," Mustaine said. 

"If I see him again, I'm not going to hold a grudge and probably give him a hug and thank him for trying."

Meanwhile, in the same video session Mustaine also acknowledged that Adelaide fans were left fuming after the city was left out of the band's latest Australian tour, though he assured all viewers that the metal group will return following their release of their fifteenth studio album Dystopia, due out on 22 January.
