Any takers?

Australian music magazine Rhythms is up for grabs after current owner-publishers Martin Jones and Verity Bee officially announced today that they are selling the business.

The two will step down from their post following a ten year stint after they took over from original owner Brian Wise who founded the blues and roots magazine in 1992.

"This is a once in a lifetime opportunity to own a genuine Australian institution," Jones said.

"Rhythms remains such an important voice for so many great musicians, most of whom are ignored by mainstream media."

Jones and Bee have witnessed first-hand the amount of changes that the music industry has faced in the past decade and are excited about what the future holds for the magazine.

"Our primary source of advertising has shifted from recorded music to live music, which is stronger than ever," he said.

"We've also had to keep on top of digital and online publishing, and have established one of the best digital magazines for iPad anywhere. It’s an exciting time for anyone with a vision of the future for publishing and the music industry. Things are changing, undoubtedly, but with change comes opportunity."
