Brand New Frontman Tears Up On Stage: 'This Isn't Gonna Last Much Longer'

They reunited last year after taking some time off but it seems, at least according to frontman Jesse Lacey, that Brand New won't be around for too much longer.

Performing their final show for 2015 in Nashville last night, Lacey spoke candidly to the packed-out audience and became quite emotional when doing so. 

The 37-year-old singer threw nearly everyone in the venue off guard when he said, "This will be our last show for a while and there's gonna be a lot of things different when we come back."

"I'm gonna have a new daughter and some of my friends will have children and I hope we have a record to play for you, that would be nice. Anyway, I'm going to tell you right here and now, this isn't gonna last much longer."

Almost sending the crowd into near-silence Lacey continued, "But it's been so special for so long and for as long as it does last, we're just so grateful for you all being here. Thanks so much, you guys are family."

Minutes earlier, Lacey had to be consoled by his band mates after sharing some kinds word about them on stage saying, "Being in a room like this is really special. Personally, I don’t feel adequate, or worth it, playing on this stage. But, I know that Garrett and Vinnie and Brian are absolutely worth it."

After being embraced by his band members he continued, "Without the three of them, I never would’ve gotten to do any of this. And so thanks to them, for my life."

It is hoped that the new Brand New record will be released in early 2016 and it will be the band's first album since 2009's Daisy.

While many hoped the New York-founded group would appear at next year's Soundwave festival, promoter AJ Maddah announced that they would not be on the bill, though he gave Aussie fans some hope when he suggested they would be heading our way for a headline tour instead.
