The breakout singer-songwriter is adding to his Falls Festival plans in the new year

More Leon Bridges More Leon Bridges

Texas-bred troubadour Leon Bridges will play a pair of headline shows — his first ever in the country — alongside his appearance at the 2015/16 Falls Music & Arts Festival, it has been announced.

The 26-year-old Coming Home scribe will hit up the Metro Theatre, in Sydney, on Sunday 3 January, before performing at Melbourne's 170 Russell on Thursday 7 January.

Bridges will arrive in Australia atop an unprecedented wave of momentum, hot off performances at high-profile events such as London's Apple Music Festival, Glastonbury, Latitude Festival and his imminent US tour this month, during which he'll also appear at Austin City Limits. Coming Home, his debut full-length, peaked inside the top 10 on the ARIA Albums Chart upon its release, hitting an impressive high of #8 and yielding a raft of warmly received singles from the title track and doo-wop delights of Better Man to the sax-tastic, retro-blues whimsy of Smooth Sailin'.

Tickets for Leon Bridges' impending sideshows go on sale this Friday 9 October at 9am (local time) via Ticketek (Sydney) and the venue (Melbourne).
