More Ellie Goulding More Ellie Goulding

Michael Gudinski, producer of today's AFL Grand Final entertainment at the MCG in Melbourne, has hit back at claims that Ellie Goulding lip synced her pre-game performance.

“Ellie performed live vocals to a backing track," claimed Gudinski in a statement released this afternoon, "This is a very common practice for performances in situations such as the Grand Final."

The rumours of lip syncing began when the British singer's vocals for Love Me Like You Do were heard playing as she walked around the stage with the mic at her side for the pre-game performance.

Gudisnksi explained: "Unfortunately a technical issue at the start of Ellie’s performance caused a brief hiccup but Ellie went on to prove just how much of a superstar she is, belting out two of her massive hits.  Claims that Ellie lip synced her performance are absolutely untrue.”

Goulding will return to the stage at the MGG with a full live band for the the free Virgin Australia Premiership Party after 6pm tonight.  Fans are able to attend the concert for free by entering the MCG via Gates 4,5 & 6 post 6pm.
