This one's gonna be crazy golden

The beloved Golden Plains Festival — sister festival to the fellow balloted Meredith Music Festival, and held in the same area — has announced that in 2016 it will turn ten years of age. With such a huge milestone upon them, the Golden Plains camp have announced the dates for the 2016 festival, along with the incredible news that they'll be coaxing Melbourne rockers Eddy Current Suppression Ring out of a six-year sabbatical to celebrate their birthday. Whaaaat?

The quartet will be playing ten years to the day at Golden Plains next year, which will be held from 12 to 14 March in its usual cosy home of the Meredith Supernatural Amphitheatre. The band have said it's a one-off for now, but it's been six years coming and it'll be a spectacle to see them playing where it all started for Golden Plains a decade ago.

The Ballot for the festival has just opened up via goldenplains.com.au, before it closes at 10.10pm on Tuesday, 20 October.
