Bust out those tank tops, because it's about to get sweaty out there

More The Rubens More The Rubens

Having already cut their teeth through well-received shindigs featuring the likes of Allday, DZ Deathrays, In Hearts Wake, Northlane, The Delta Riggs and The Bennies, the crew at Urban Spread are getting ready to knock up the heat a notch this November with the first iteration of their red-hot Summer Series program, featuring live performances headlined by local alt-rock princes The Rubens.

Hot on the heels of their acclaimed second full-length Hoops (and its undeniably infectious title track), The Rubens will take to the stage alongside fellow esteemed locals Saskwatch — likewise arriving at Summer Series with new album Sorry I Let It come Between Us in tow — and Harts, who will kick off each night's proceedings with an inimitable, soulful mastery of the humble six-string that has seen the scruff-haired muso have praise freely thrown his way by all who have been exposed to him.

Of course, this is just the tip of the Summer Series iceberg, with the behind-the-scenes crew casting their eyes across all musical walks and working hard to line up the most epic of events with which to carry punters through the next few months.

This initial serving of musical goodness will be on offer thrice in a couple of months' time — on Thursday 19 November at Plaza Tavern, Hoppers Crossing; Friday 20 November at the Chelsea Heights Hotel; and Saturday 21 November at Mulgrave's Village Green Hotel. Tickets for all three shows are available now via Urban Spread.
