Minister For Women Michaelia Cash has spoken up
There's been a whirlwind of news about Chris Brown recently, first announcing that he'd be touring Australia and New Zealand this December, after which New Zealand announced they were set to turn Brown away. Following New Zealand's lead, an Australian GetUp! petition was launched to ban Brown's One Hell Of A Nite tour to descend upon Australia, and today it seems that might just happen.
As SMH reports, Minister For Women Michaelia Cash has agreed with GetUp!'s stance and offered a suggestion to Immigration Minister Peter Dutton, stating, "I am clearly not going to pre-empt a decision by the minister, however, I can assure you what my strong recommendation would be. People need to understand that if you are going to commit domestic violent and then you want to travel around the world there are going to be countries that say to you 'you cannot come in because you are not of the character we expect in Australia'."
In her previous role as Assistant Immigration Minister, Senator Cash had barred boxer Floyd Mayweather entry to the country for his past in domestic violence.
Senator Cash said Mr Dutton would be looking into the visa issue "very, very seriously", referring to the section of the Migration Act that states anyone who holds a "substantial criminal record" can be refused a visa, while Prime Minister Turnbull said that Senator Cash had "brilliantly expressed the thoughts of the government".

As ABC reported, the One Hell Of A Nite tour posters plastered around Melbourne were recently defaced by activist groups with stickers that say 'I beat women', though the posters have reportedly been replaced since.
