They did it very quietly, too.
Just over three years after its launch, Telstra's music streaming service Mog has shut down.
While it managed to be kept very quiet, Mumbrella reports that the service officially shut up shop on 1 September after it failed to rival fellow streaming rivals such as Spotify and Pandora and its users have been offered free 12 and 24 month subscriptions to Apple Music.
Globally Mog was owned by Beats Music, however after that particular service was bought out last year by Apple, it would explain why Telstra are pushing their customers towards Apple Music.
Telstra did confirm in a Q&A on a crowd support web page that Mog had been shut down, though no specific reasons were given as it simply read, "good news is there is a new music streaming service with the launch of Apple Music."

Mog can be added to the growing list of failed music streaming services that have been forced to close, which already includes Songl and Deezer in the past 12 months.
