Ninth Season Of Doctor Who To Be Fast-Tracked From UK to ABC

It's about time.

It took a while but Aussie sci-fi fans everywhere can rejoice with news that the ninth season of the Doctor Who TV series is being fast-tracked from the UK straight to national screens.

The first episode of the upcoming season is to premiere on ABC iview on Sunday 20 September, though at the unfortunate time of 5:30am (proving just how quickly the turnover will be) however it will then be replayed throughout the day before screening again on ABC at 7:40pm.

Due to Australian iview start times being based on the UK schedule as well as forthcoming daylight saving changes during the series, ABC TV will announce the time in which the remaining 12 episodes will be available on iview on their Facebook and Twitter accounts each Friday before the Sunday screening times.

The awesome news comes just days after the show announced that archaeology professor River Song will appear in this year's annual Christmas special set to air on 25 December.
