The country music supergroup launch their journey in Tamworth this coming January

More Adam Brand More Adam Brand

Australian country-music fans are in for a treat of significant proportions early next year, as venerated troubadour Adam Brand and his supergroup of a backing band, The Outlaws, have announced they'll be starting 2016 the right way, with an epic run of shows around pretty much the whole country (sorry, territories) from late in January.

Brand is, of course, a drawcard in his own right, but combined with the talents of his players in The Outlaws — prolific, award-winning Aussie musos Drew McAlisterTravis CollinsMatt Cornell and Mike Carr — the impending performances are all but guaranteed to be downright unmissable spectacles for fans of the genre, as previewed when the band first took up arms together at this year's Gympie Music Muster.

"When it came to putting a list together of people that would suit this Outlaw band, it didn't take very long," Brand said of his new squad in a statement. "These guys are all great mates, have amazing talent and occasionally cross the line — perfect!

"This tour is going to take us from Tassie, across the Nullabor and then all the way to tropical Queensland. Who better to do a tour of this scale than with your mates? The whole idea of this band, album and tour is to go out and party hard, and these boys do that best!"

And what a party it's shaping up to be — getting under way at the West Tamworth Leagues Club on Friday 22 January, the Adam Brand & The Outlaws roadshow heads through Dargo (25 January), Warrnambool (27 January), Hallam (28 January), Geelong (29 January), Thurgoona (30 January), Bendigo (31 January), Muswellbrook (3 February), Ettalong (4 February), Toronto (5 February), Towradgi Beach (6 February), Goulburn (7 February), Caloundra (11 February), Chermside (12 February), Tweed Heads (13 February), Toowoomba (14 February), Launceston (19 February), Hobart (20 February), Inverell (25 February), Laurieton (26 February), Moonee Beach (27 February), Forster (28 February), Norwood (3 March), Hahndorf (4 March), Mundarring Weir (5 March), Ravenswood (6 March), Dubbo (17 March), Mudgee (18 March) and Rooty Hill (19 March). As you can see, a tonne of locales less travelled are getting a look-in when Brand & The Outlaws pass through town, so expect the added air of appreciation in those places to take these shows from your run-of-the-mill shindigs to something downright special.

The tour will coincide with the release of the band's self-titled debut full-length, with first single Good Year For The Outlaw doing the rounds on radio now. The album drops via ABC Music on 15 January, 2016.
