A 15-year-old US teenager has been arrested after he allegedly posted lyrics from rapper Eminem's song I'm Back which police believed to be a "potential threat" as the track references a school massacre.

As The Fresno Bee reports, the lyrics were posted to the teenager's Instagram acacount on Monday and by Tuesday, all classes at the student's school were cancelled and he was arrested on charges of making terrorist threats and disrupting school activity.

The song in question written by the superstar rapper refers to the 1999 Columbine high school shooting and Fresno police Chief Jerry Dyer said they had "every reason to believe that there was potential for a threat to be carried out."

"I take seven kids from Columbine, stand ’em all in a line, add an AK-47, a revolver, a nine, a MAC-11 and it oughtta solve the problem of mine. And that’s a whole school of bullies shot up all at one time. I’m just like Shady and just as crazy as the world was over this whole Y2K thing."

The teenager has denied posting the lyrics and suggested that his computer has been hacked.

The student's home was later raided and consequently his father is also now reportedly facing charges for improper storage of firearms after a number of unregistered firearms and a bullet proof vest were found underneath a closet in his bedroom.

Police believe that the teenager fits the traits of a school shooter as he was considered "socially awkward" as well as claims that he was being bullied at school, however the family's lawyer has disputed those claims.

The investigation is currently ongoing.
