This is huge.

He's one of Australia's most popular stand-up acts and now Melbourne comic Ronny Chieng is taking on the US with the announcement that he will join The Daily Show With Trever Noah as one of three new correspondents.

Chieng will join the new-look show alongside former correspondent Noah, following the departure of beloved US comedian and host Jon Stewart who stepped down from his presenting role this month after 16 years behind the desk.

It is an incredible feat for Chieng to come on board the renowned satirical TV program, which has seen a number of hugely successful personalities get their big break on The Daily Show in years past, including Steve Carell, Stephen Colbert, John Oliver and Ed Helms to name a few.

Chieng will join US actress Desi Lydic and comedian Roy Wood Jr as the show's new daily correspondents.

However, the massively exciting opportunity for Chieng has resulted in the actor being forced to cancel or reschedule a large amount of his upcoming Aussie performances this October, where he was originally set to tour his You Don't Know What You're Talking About show.

His dates in Perth, Darwin, Geelong, Bendigo, Newcastle and Brisbane have all been cancelled — ticket holders will be contacted by the ticketing outlets and provided with refunds.

Meanwhile, Chieng's Sydney date at the Enmore Theatre later this month has been pushed to Thursday 19 November and it is advised Ticketek will contact current ticket holders regarding the rescheduled date.

He will however perform in Canberra at the Canberra Theatre on Thursday 29 October and the following night in Chatswood at the Concourse.

Tickets for the three revised shows are available now and for more details, head to theGuide.
